Truly automating your plant involves more than robotics. If you really want to be lean and stay competitive, consider switching to an automated and centralised material handling system that not only reduces material waste, but impacts quality, yield, uptime, floor space, aesthetics and labor costs.
Founded in 1943 and 100% Danish-owned, Labotek have positioned themselves as one of the leading suppliers of centralised systems to the plastics industry. Labotek's renowned reliability and expertise coupled with a system based on locally available sub components has led to great success within Australia and New Zealand.
The first installation of a Labotek centralised conveying system was back in 1977 to Huhtamaki in Clayton Victoria, this system is still operating today. More recent large scale installations include Willow Ware Australia, Impact International, Duromer Products, Huhtamaki Australia NSW & QLD, Ultraplas, Visy Industrial Plastics the Brickwood group (including three separate sites) and many more.
At your initial inquiry our sales team and engineering department will work with you to design a system to meet your current and future needs. Each proposal is submitted with detailed CAD principle drawings and factory layouts ensuring full understanding of the finer detail. At approval of our quotation our installation team will move in harmony with your production managers to minimise production loss during changeover.
Most of today's centralised conveying systems also include bulk material storage silos and our famous Maguire gravimetric blenders which provide accurate dispensing and mixing of all materials and monitoring of both accurate inventory and usage rates to a central PC.

Labotek LT vacuum stations are designed for continuous operation in Australian conditions. All vacuum stations are 100% maintenance free, and operate with low noise levels between 61- 80dBa without bulky sound enclosures.
The LT series uses either single, double, triple or quadruple individual vacuum blowers running in series. This achieves an extremely deep vacuum with low air speed ensuring a safe material conveying speed over long distances. This design also allows a single spare 3.4kw vacuum blower on site as spare at very low cost.
For high capacity systems traditional dry rotary claw pumps are available

Optional frequency inverters, available on all Labotek vacuum stations, eliminate start up amps by running permanently (5Hz standby) giving significant energy savings. Also allows individual percentage adjustment of air flow per SVR vacuum receiver enabling complete.
Labotek Cyclones are highly efficient and range from 3ltr to 20ltr and are ideal for materials with low to medium dust content and small to medium conveying capacities. Each cyclone is fitted with a dust collector that is easily removed and emptied periodically.
Labotek WAM dust filtration equipment are the most efficient and reliable self purging filters available. An external reservoir releases a 20 litre pulse of air into the internal filter cartridges at the beginning and end of each conveying cycle.
Labotek Blow Back filter cleaning is unique to Labotek where by filter cleaning happens in each vacuum receiver on the machine throat. A blow back valve fitted at the vacuum station changes vacuum to blow fines out of the filter in the vacuum receiver.

Labotek SVR stainless steel vacuum receivers and machine buffer hoppers ensure each machine is safely charged with material at all times. Point of difference with Labotek SVR Vacuum Valves is that they are pneumatically opened with a mechanical spring return ensuring vacuum seal in the event of air failure.
Two SVR series available:
SVR - for granules and regrind flake
SVRP - for all free flowing powders

Labotek offers multiple system control solutions based on Siemens or Allen Bradley components all with easy navigation.
MiniScan - total control of centralised materials conveying.
LaboScan - total control of centralised materials conveying and drying.
LaboWin - total control of centralised materials conveying and drying with link to the office world. Based on WinCC and MS operating system with network interface and Ethernet compatibility.
For most Australian and New Zealand plastics shop looking for a better solution to the predominant single hopper loader or manual loading method, the MiniScan offers complete control of all facets of central conveying at low cost.
However if you're in the medical, CD, Optical or other high technology industry then Labotek's advanced range of controls including the LaboScan and LaboWin will provide the technology that you demand such as web enable communication and interface to your existing network operating system. Possible Options as follows;
LaboScan and LaboWin are both available with LaboLink one wire standard AS-Interface technology. One wire technology drastically reduces installation cable, simplifie component installation and improves alarm logs and reports.

An integral part of all centralised material conveying systems is material storage management. The intention is to reduce the clutter of beside the press storage bins and maximise your available production room floor space with your process machines that make you money.
Ideally resins are stored separately from the molding area then centrally conveyed to each process machine. With smaller tonnage machines external silos may not be justified so internal material bins, bulk bag unloaders and BM silos are installed. The range of mobile bins and larger intermediate bins are available in plastic, galvanized steel, powder coated steel and stainless steel.
Labotek's BM range of modular indoor silos are delivered flat packed and erected onsite. The modular concept allows easy reconfiguration to meet your changing demands. With an extensive range from 1- 60 tone capacity we can size them according to available floor and ceiling space.

For all large tonnage capacity systems our external silos are installed for protective outdoor storage. We provide design, supply and installation of our complete silo range manufactured from mild steel, galvanised sheet and coil, stainless steel, aluminium or colourbond, depending on the application to ensure the best results for the product being stored.
Our silos can be fitted with load cells with remote display of actual silo load and telemetrics.
