Each time a mould is changed, it is likely that the ejector pins (knockout bars) will have to be disconnected from the injection moulding machine’s ejector cylinder and then reconnected. To do so, the ejector pin must be held in place by a headed bolt passed through a small hole in the machine back plate which is then threaded into the ejector pin. And often, depending on the size of the mould, this operation must be carried out nearly blindly, using a wrench of substantial size in a working space that is very restricted. Or in the case of larger moulds, employees have to virtually climb onto the machine in order to gain access to the ejector pins. Needless to say, this task is very laborious and dangerous – and must be carried out with extreme caution.

The operator who must remove and reposition the ejector pins can do so easily, without effort, and in seconds instead of the minutes or more it took previously. The entire range uses a floating design with an all-directional tolerance of 1 millimeter to accommodate conditions of misalignment with the adapter unit that is mounted to the ejector pin.

• EUROMAP configuration – Built to VDMA 24465, part 5 industry standards, these units are hydraulically operated and single acting. Each model is delivered with two proximity switches that indicate coupling mode. Capacities range from 20, 50, 100 to 200 kN.
  
• SPI configuration – Available for 1” or 2” diameter size ejector patterns, these units simply push together when the mould is loaded. For the mould-release function, pressure is applied. Proximity switches to signal coupling mode are available for each model.
